About

I am a 25 year old small business owner, computer programmer, and gamer. I see things through a Classical Liberal/Libertarian viewpoint. I favor a small, non-intrusive government.

My opinions posted on this blog may seem extreme, outright mean, and potentially evil by some.

You may think I don’t care about “the little people”. Well, I can assure you I do care about “the little people”, because I amĀ one of thoseĀ ”little people”. The difference is what is the best way to help those little people, is it by forcefully taking wealth from the rich and giving it to the little people? Or ensuring that the little people can save their money and be able to make a living so that they can eventually work their way up?

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

The name of this blog, “Collateral Damage” is based on the unintended consequences of government intervention, where the government causes several problems in an attempt to fix another problem. In most cases the government did not intentionally try to cause these other problems, but now they are here.

Of course, the governments solution to those new problems that they caused is usually more government intervention, and the cycle repeats itself. I hope to provide many examples of this on my blog posts.

Collateral damage is damage that is unintended or incidental to the intended outcome

Other favorite quotes:

I personally believe that we don’t need a lot more laws, I think we’ve got far too many laws on the books now, that’s part of the problem. We don’t need more government, more laws; we need a lot less. I’m up there [in Washington, D.C.] trying to dismantle a lot of this giant government.

When you ‘pass a law’ with the current attitude in the Congress what do you get in a law today? You get either more spending, or more taxes, or more controls.

Which do you want?
Do you want more spending? I think we’ve got too much.
Do you want more taxes? I think we’re taxed too heavily now.
Do you want more controls over your life?

Does anybody say ‘Hey look, I really believe the federal government needs to control me. I want to be a slave. Please tell me how to run every facet of my life.’ I don’t hear many people saying that. I think most people say ‘I think it’s time we get the government off our backs, and out of our pockets.’

Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.
